Welcome back from the weekend everyone. I hope everybody had a great day of rest yesterday and that you spent quality time with your families. Tonight the topics are going to be a little lighter than normal. It’s not that there is a shortage of things to discuss tonight but the fact is that sometime we need to lighten the mood a little bit. With that being said it doesn’t mean that I am going to not cover some important topics.
Ding Dong The Witch Is Gone
Longtime White House Press Corp correspondent Helen Thomas is gone. Major media outlets are reporting today that Thomas has resigned due to the recent flack she was getting regarding her anti Semitic remarks about Israel. To refresh everyone’s memory here is the video of her ridiculous remarks:
Now the question remains…Did she really resign or did she get axed? Another bigger question remains. Why was she allowed to stay in the press corps at the White House for so long considering her crazy biased opinions? Either way, at least some garbage has been removed from the White House. Unfortunately that is just the beginning.
Obama’s Perception Problem
What is really Obama’s problem? Why is he slipping in the polls? I personally feel that this President is severely out of touch with the American people. Is this because he just doesn’t care what the American people want? Or is he that ignorant to not realize what the American people want. Americans want a leader, not someone who plays one on TV.
Obama had a golden opportunity at the beginning of the Gulf of Mexico oil leak crisis to find his voice and become a leader. Instead he has sat on his hands, talked tough to BP, and quite frankly has not addressed the problems of the Gulf Coast residents on a personal level. Let me say it again…Americans want a leader in times of trouble. While I disagreed with President George Bush on many of his policies there is one thing that he was able to do, particularly in his first term. When September 11, 2001 rolled around and the towers fell President Bush was, as were many people, caught off guard. As the magnitude of the disaster became known President Bush was able to find his voice and reach out to the American people while standing on top of the World Trade Center rubble just three days after the disaster:
In that one moment George W. Bush came into his own, and quite frankly I feel that moment propelled him to a second term in the White House.
The perception to the American people right now is that Mr. Obama would rather host concerts at the White House and have state dinners with foreign leaders that like to bash America. What he should be doing is actually roll up his sleeves and get out among the people being affected. People everywhere are hurting whether it be on the Gulf Coast or in small town America. This White House would have you believe that the economy is recovering but in reality the future is very dim. Businesses are closing and people are losing their jobs. These are the people that BUILT this country that are hurting and they need a leader that will reach out to them. Unfortunately for our country this leader has other priorities:
In addition to his audition to replace George Harrison our President was caught talking tough this morning on the Today Show:
Um, here’s a thought Mr. President…A little less talk and a lot more ACTION.
Gangsta Connection?
With that being said maybe it should figure that our current President would talk like a gangsta from the hood since he has possibly been caught in an early 90’s rap video. Check out the following video at the 1.01 mark:
So is it him? It sure looks like it…I’ll let you decide. Maybe Obama can get rid of Janet Napalitano and replace her with Dr. Dre as Secretary of Homeland Security.
Until tomorrow night…
