Welcome to the long holiday weekend ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for taking time to read the blog and stay informed. This will be the last blog until Tuesday, June 1, 2010 unless there is major breaking news…
Sestak Scandal:
There is not much to add to the Sestak scandal tonight other than the fact that it is still there and that it isn’t going away anytime soon. Most of the major news outlets did not put much coverage into the topic today other than to continue to question former President Clinton’s role in the whole matter. Have no fear folks, I am on top of this story and as much as the White House would love for everyone to forget about this by Tuesday I can guarantee you that is not going to happen.
Top Kill Fails:
Unfortunately there is news from the Gulf of Mexico oil spill and it is not good news. BP has announced this evening that they are suspending the Top Kill method that they we trying to use to stop the oil from leaking from the damaged well. BP states that after almost two days of attempting the method it became apparent that the method was not going to work. This is not what the people of the Gulf Coast or this country need to hear right now. People are begging for results and it seems like one thing after another keeps failing. BP is saying they are looking at other options now but I cannot help but feel they are stringing everyone along until the relief wells are driven. Those relief wells are a permanent solution but unfortunately they will not be completed until the end of August. It is completely UNACCEPTABLE to continue to have oil spewing into the Gulf of Mexico for the next three months. Something must be done to contain this. Bottom line is this…I don’t care if they have to work around the clock I do hope that BP and the government have the best and brightest scientific minds on the case to solve this disaster.
Memorial Day:
As each of us celebrate Memorial Day this coming Monday please stop and take a moment to remember what the day is all about. If you personally know an armed forces soldier please do your part and pick up the phone, call them, and thank them for their service. Remember that we wouldn’t have the freedoms that we have today if it were not for the men in uniform going all the way back to the American Revolution. Let’s continue the fight for freedom each day and not forget the reasons that these great people paid the ultimate price.
Have a great weekend and holiday. Until Tuesday…
